The door is locked - what do I do?

If you experience that the door to the washing machine is locked, it may be because the machine has encountered an error. There are a few things you can try to resolve the problem yourself.

Turn the machine off/on

All machines have a main switch. The main switch is usually located behind the machine and can be either a round rotary knob or a regular switch. If you don't find it on the machine, please look on the wall. The most important thing to note is that the main switch will most likely have "on/off" marked on it.

When you find the main switch, you should turn/press the knob to "off". Then, leave it for 10-15 minutes before turning the knob to "on" again.

Often, the door will unlock while the machine is turned off, and other times it will unlock when the machine is turned back on.
